It's very easy to present Gio as an obstructive force who was responsible for all the protracted delays around the UHC/HICU collaboration when you completely obviate his claims that a variety of legal pressures were placed upon him as a precondition for the collaboration to go ahead. I understand not wanting to address the legal aspects in detail in what amounts to an unofficial reply, but until this can be done, any response is going to inherently deeply distort the claimed narrative, because the thrust of Gio's allegations wasn't that he was being impeded by HICU or HICU-adjacent people in some sort of holy mission of preserving Homestuck before it explodes, but rather that it was a veil for the carrying out of said legal practices.

Unless these claims can be proven or disproven, this is just reframing the discussion in a potentially misleading direction.
