^ yes, this is the correct answer. many canon names are allowed to be taken by users. there are a select few which are specifically DISALLOWED and had to be gotten through illegitimate means and those users will have their canon privileges provoked.

as per miles:

we only actually RESERVED a few specific names, under the following criteria, for the main 8 kids and the main 12 trolls and a few miscellaneous others:
